What are xanthelasmas?

These are cholesterol deposits on the most superficial layers of the eyelids skin. However these are related to the increase of the cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. This association is not always present and once xanthelasmas are introduced , these will not disappear after normalising the cholesterol levels in the blood unless we treat them surgically.

These injuries progressively appear in the upper and lower eyelids, presenting a yellow and bulky look that gradually is more evident over the years. The solution to this problem is simple and fast.

The result is the substitution to this injury for an almost invisible scar far less noticeable than initial one.

Characteristics of the xanthelasmas resection:

Duration of the procedure 30 minutes – 1 hour
Anesthesia Local
Hospitalization Surgery without hospitalization
Return to work life Immediate
